Mark Saindon went 20-0 for me back in 2018 when I ran Ottawa. Almonte was tough to beat that year. He went 25-3 with a 1.84 ERA. I do remember voting for Saindon (back in the day when the team GM's voted for major awards). I can't imagine ever seeing another 20-0 season from a reliever again, MLB o...
I just noticed that my closer last year, Robert Messier, won Pitcher of the Year. He is the first reliever to win Pitcher of the Year in the EL and 2nd reliever overall. Cool. For some of the veterans, wasn't there a reliever that won 20 games one year? I can't believe he didn't win Pitcher of the Y...
It seems as though I have double traded my 3rd rounder. STJ owns my 3rd rounder from the Quiles trade last season. As self-punishment, Niagara should be given my 2nd rounder instead. Probably not the fairest for me but I think the easiest resolution at this point.
I couldn't resist setting up a 1-2-3 punch of Backburn-McLean-Romaine. Hopefully it is enough to compensate for my relatively weak pitching. Thanks, Brandon!
Yay, Jay! :) Congrats on joining the two-time winners club. I seem to remember you once telling me something to the effect that it was tough managing your Quebec team all those seasons ago. Look at you now though, a true perennial championship contender! :) Sorry to see you lose, Bob. After all tho...
Messier's blown save in game 2 hurts! That was only his 3rd blown save of the year. More irony regarding this match-up: I'm playing the team based out of the city I grew up in and now the guy who hits a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 9th in game 2 has the last name (Honey) of my dog's name growing up...
Awesome! If I wasn't so busy with work and a newborn, I would write an article about me facing the team from the city I grew up in. I will export later this morning.
Wow. I did not expect that. My gamble with Padgett paid off. He pitched a 3-hit shutout in game 5. Both series are homer series so far. Should make for some good finishes!
Ex-Hawks star Quiles takes the loss in game 1! You sure you want this guy back in free agency? :) Fredericton is ready. I'm rolling the dice on another pitching change for game 5. A struggling Peter Bradley is out and the inconsistent ex-19 game winner Jeff Padgett is in. Let's see if I can get the ...
Super mondo congrats to Fredericton. Best of luck the rest of the way! Thanks, Kirk & Kieran! I'm really grasping at straws now. On a hunch, I started a guy in game 6 that hadn't started a game for me since 2032! He ended up throwing a complete game gem! Reminds me of the Summer of '49 b...
