Monday, August 6th, 2035: Veteran Jose Moscato had a great week at the plate for the Loons to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the Western League.
The 33-year-old Lethbridge third baseman built a .600 average on the strength of 12 hits in 20 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBIs.
This season Moscato has hit 5 home runs and posted a .320 batting average. |

Monday, August 6th, 2035: Christopher McLean is respected by most Fredericton Grizzlies fans for his no-frills style of play. The 27-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Eastern League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .458 average (11-24) with 4 home runs, 6 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
Hitting .294 to date, McLean has 21 home runs and 66 RBIs. He has played in 76 games. |
 | Jean-Sébastien St-Gelais Hurt, Out 6 Months
Sunday, August 5th, 2035: Jean-Sébastien St-Gelais at first refused to leave today's Richmond Hill-Yukon game after he suffered a broken bone in the elbow while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Yukon catcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep St-Gelais out of action for 6 months.
St-Gelais is currently batting .327 with 8 home runs and 50 RBIs. |
