 | Eastern League Picks Best Starter in July Wednesday, August 1st, 2035: Oswaldo Guerrero nailed down July's Eastern League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on Halifax to get a deal done before the 35-year-old becomes a free agent. Guerrero seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?" He fashioned a 4-1 record, reeled off 38 strikeouts, worked 53 innings and held batters to a .205 average for the month as he posted a 2.04 ERA. This season Guerrero has a 14-4 record with a 2.87 ERA. |
