Monday, August 12th, 2041: 24-year-old Glenn Reinhart made a few Grande Prairie headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Western League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 14 hits in 30 at-bats to put up a .467 average. Reinhart collected 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
This season Reinhart is hitting .309 with 7 home runs. |

Monday, August 12th, 2041: Pat Mansel burst onto the Eastern League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie first baseman for North York garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 26-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .462 (12-26) with 4 home runs and 5 RBIs last week.
Mansel's current batting average stands at .283 and he has chalked up 12 home runs and 49 RBIs. |
 | Hunter Bewilders Sluggers in Shutout
Saturday, August 10th, 2041: Gus Hunter pitched a strong game in blanking the Gatineau Sluggers 2-0, allowed no runs on 5 hits, totaled 1 strikeout and gave up no walks.
The North York manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Hunter. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
To this point in the season Hunter has 7 wins and 3 losses and a 3.16 ERA. |
